Exhibit 6

Background Information:

This photo was taken when I was very young with my grandpa who passed away 14 years ago. It has always been too dark, and it got damaged with ink splotches. Because of these problems, I always thought this photo was ruined.

Design:

  • First, I adjusted the colors of the photo to help lighten the photo

  • I used the spot healing brush to get a lot the ink splotches out

  • Areas like the ear and the lace, I used the clone stamp tool to get rid of the ink splotches

Skills Used:

  • Photo Adjustments in Adobe Camera Raw and in Adobe Photoshop to lighten the picture

  • Spot healing brush tool to remove most of the ink splotches

  • Clone Stamp Tool for small areas where the spot healing brush was too detailed and couldn’t fix the spots

Revisions:

  • I added a left arm that was missing because the original photo was old and overexposed

  • I cut the background out using a mask

  • I added a background

  • Then I burned the edges to make a vignette so you can focus on the baby (me) better
