PRIVATE -  BUILDING SEARCH & ROOM CLEARING TACTICS

Course Details:

This course was originally developed for Law Enforcement as well as the “Loss Prevention” Industry for officers who, in the course and scope of their employment, need to be properly trained in the use of building search and room clearing tactics.  

This course will cover the essential information, tactics, and practical application exercises to enable the student to effectively search a building and clear a room. 

This course will cover the following:

• Understanding of the law and what constitutes the reasonable use of force as it pertains to encountering an unknown subject. 

• General terminology and nomenclature related to Building Search Tactics.

• Safe weapon handling as it pertains to building search tactics.

• Understanding of threat discrimination procedures.

• Low light tactics as they pertain to searching a building.

• One man and two man building search tactics.

• One-man room clearing tactics for both corner fed and center fed rooms.

• Two-man room clearing tactics for both corner fed and center fed rooms.

PRIVATE -  PISTOL RETENTION/COUNTER RETENTION TACTICS

Course Details:

This course has evolved out of courses originally developed by Steve Tarani for Law Enforcement and Military personnel.  This course has been modified to meet the needs of either the LE/Mil/Security Professional or the Private Citizen who to learn techniques to defend their pistol.   

This course will cover the essential information, tactics, and practical application exercises to enable the student to defend against a handgun grab and how to disarm someone armed with a handgun. 

This course will cover the following:

• The law and what constitutes the reasonable use of force and reasonable use of deadly force. 

• Non-Contact Range

• Contact Range

• Cover Garment & Hand Positioning

• Entanglements

• Extended Retention

• Counter Retention – Preventing the Draw

• Counter Retention - From the Front

Private Lessons are conducted in a "one on one" instructor to student ratio and allow the student to fit the class into their schedule.  The advantage of private lessons is that the training is specifically tailored to the student needs and availability.  Many clients prefer this to open registration classes and site the  personal attention and tailored curriculum as a benefit to knowledge and skill development.

Pistol Diagnostics Course Details:

This course was developed for Military, Law Enforcement, Private Security or the American Citizen looking to enhance their shooting ability.

New and experienced shooters alike will benefit from this class. Through proven diagnostic drills, we will identify any issues in your pistol skills that may exist. We will teach you how to correct common errors as well as the building blocks of performance shooting.

Through specifically designed drills created to build specific shooting skills the student will learn how to develop their individual performance.  These drills will also be used by the student during their own range training to sustain and continue your shooting skill development.

The class will address the following:

• Firearms Safety

• Diagnostic Shooting Drills

• Mental approach to shooting

• Trigger drills to enhance shooting fundamentals.

• Performance Based vs. Result Based Training

• Building “The Process”

• Enhancing the draw sequence

• Performance Shooting Drills and Standards

• 2 Hand, Strong Hand and Support Hand Shooting

Course Details:

• This course was developed for the new shooter or any shooter who has never received formal instruction on how to draw from a holster.  This class focuses on developing an effective draw from either an open or concealed carry OWB or IWB holster.  

• The class will also address the following:

• Safety

• A step by step draw sequence to build an efficient presentation from holster to target index.

• Drawing from an open holster

• Drawing from a concealed holster both "over" and "open" garments.

• Drawing to "retention position" for close quarter defensive engagements.

We will then use several foundational shooting exercises to allow the students the maximum amount of draws during the duration of the class while building several foundational skills.

LOW LIGHT PISTOL TACTICS

Course Details:

This course was developed for Law Enforcement, Security Professional or the American Citizen who wish to learn how to properly utilize a handgun in a low light environment to protect themselves, those they are sworn to protect or their family.

This class focuses on the safe operation of a handgun in a low light environment with an emphasis on low light tactical shooting applications. 

The class will also address the following:

• Firearms Safety

• Weapon mounted lights

• Hand held flashlight techniques

• Tactical use of light

• Low light shooting tactics

• Positional shooting & use of cover

• Principles of threat discrimination 

• Low Light Practical Application

PRIVATE - FIGHT TO YOUR GUN COURSE

Course Details:

This course has evolved out of courses originally developed by Steve Tarani for Law Enforcement and Military personnel.  This course has been modified to meet the needs of either the LE/Mil/Security Professional or the Private Citizen who wishes to learn how to survive a close quarter attack and create the opportunity to get your firearm.

This class focuses on the concepts and principles of tactically defending against an extreme close quarter attack and creating the opportunity to deploy a concealed weapon.  

This class will be done as a Non-Ballistic (Training gun) Course.

The class will address the following:

Non-Ballistic Skills (Training Gun Only, NO LIVE FIRE)                                     

•  Scale of Injury                                                            

•  Moving off the “X”                                                    

• Contact vs. non-contact range                                     

• Gun vs. knife                                                              

• Defense of lethal targets

PRIVATE - ILLINOIS CONCEALED CARRY CLASS

Course Details:

This course was developed for Illinois residents and eligible non-residents looking to obtain an Illinois Concealed Carry License.  The state of Illinois requires a 16 hours of training. 

This class will meet all the requirements set forth by the Illinois State Police.  The class will address the following:

• Firearms Safety

• All applicable State and Federal laws relating to the ownership, storage, carry, and transportation of a firearm

• Emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/10(h) which includes instruction on the appropriate and lawful interaction with law enforcement while transporting or carrying a concealed firearm

• Emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/65 which includes instruction on prohibited areas and the parking lot exception

• The FOID Act 430 ILCS 65/1 

• 720 ILCS 5/7-1. Use of force in defense of a person

• 720 ILCS 5/7-2. Use of force in defense of dwelling

• 720 ILCS 5/7-3. Use of force in defense of other property

• 720 ILCS 24/1 et. seq. Unlawful Use of Weapons

• Safe weapon handling, loading and unloading

• Handgun Concealment Considerations

• Fundamentals of Marksmanship
