PISTOL 100 & 101 - Handgun Safety

Pistol 100 - A1TG Handgun Safety (Basic safety for family/household members)

Pistol 101 - A1TG Handgun Safety, Operation, Care/Cleaning and Selection (If you own a handgun or are looking to purchase a handgun, this course is for you.)

Angel One Training Group, LLC is proud to announce the instruction of a HANDGUN SAFETY SERIES OF COURSES. These courses were developed for the new shooter or a family member who wishes to learn the basics of handgun safety, basic operation, maintenance, storage and transportation. Whether you own a handgun but have never had any formal training or you are looking to purchase your first handgun, one of these courses will meet your needs.

These classes focus on basic handgun safety and familiarization. Depending on the specific class, the class will also address the following:

Pistol 100 - 2 Hours

  • Basic Firearms Safety

  • Protective Equipment

  • Properly securing all firearms.

  • Properly transporting firearms.

  • Properly storing all firearms.

  • Loading and Unloading.

Pistol 101 - 4 Hours

  • Basic Firearms Safety

  • Protective Equipment

  • Properly securing all firearms.

  • Properly transporting firearms.

  • Properly storing all firearms.

  • Loading and Unloading.

  • Care and Cleaning

  • Handgun selection

  • Ammunition selection

  • Holsters, mag pouches and protective equipment selection

PISTOL 150 - HANDGUN FUNDAMENTALS

A1TG Handgun Fundamentals - 8 Hour Course

This course was designed for the American Citizen looking to gain a functional knowledge of handguns. Whether you own a handgun but have never had any formal training or you are looking to purchase your first handgun, this course will meet your needs.

This course begins with the same material as "Intro to Handgun" and continues into the fundamentals of pistol shooting, presentation to the target and how to "build the shot".

This can be done as a "classroom only" course which will use dry fire drills to familiarize the student with the fundamental skills needed to safely handle a handgun or include a segment of live fire at the range.

The ultimate goal being to prepare the new shooter to safely handle a handgun so that they may safely conduct live fire training at the range.

During this class we will cover the following:

  • Firearms safety

  • Storage

  • Function and operation (semi-automatic and revolver)

  • Handgun selection

  • Holster selection

  • Ammunition considerations

  • Fundamentals of marksmanship

  • Presentation to the target.

  • Finding Visual Center

  • Building “The Process”

  • Performance Based vs. Result Based Training

  • Loading and unloading

  • Familiarization live fire (in select courses)

PISTOL 200 - PRACTICAL PISTOL

A1TG Practical Pistol - 8 Hour Course

This course was developed for Military, Law Enforcement, Private Security or the American Citizen looking to enhance their shooting ability.

Through specifically designed drills created to build specific shooting skills the student will learn how to develop their individual shooting skills. These drills will also be used by the student during their own range training to sustain and continue your shooting skill development.

The class will address the following:

  • Safety

  • Fundamentals of Pistol Marksmanship

  • Mental approach to shooting

  • Building “The Process”

  • Performance Based vs. Result Based Training

  • Finding Visual Center

  • Presentation of the Pistol

  • Trigger drills to enhance shooting fundamentals.

  • Performance Shooting Drills and Standards (8 Hour)

  • 2 Hand, Strong Hand and Support Hand Shooting (8 Hour)

PISTOL 201 - Positions, Movement & Use of Cover

A1TG Positional Shooting, Movement & Use of Cover - 4 Hour Course

This course was developed for Law Enforcement, Security Professionals or the American Citizen who wishes to learn how to properly utilize a handgun to protect themselves, those they are sworn to protect or their family.

This class focuses on handgun safety with an emphasis on the tactical shooting applications.

The class will address the following:

  • Safety

  • The fundamentals of shooting in tactical application.

  • Shooting while moving.

  • Shooting positions

  • Use of cover

  • Movement into and out of cover

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A BASIC PISTOL COURSE.

Students must possess safe gun handling skills and a functional understanding of pistol fundamentals, to include:

  • Functional application of the fundamentals of marksmanship

  • Presentation to the target (Open and/or Concealed)

  • Loading/unloading/reloading

  • Malfunction drills.

PISTOL 202 - LOW LIGHT PISTOL

A1TG Low Light Pistol Tactics - 2 Hour or 4 Hour Course

This course was developed for Law Enforcement, Security Professional or the American Citizen who wish to learn how to properly utilize a handgun in a low light environment to protect themselves, those they are sworn to protect or their family.

This class focuses on the safe operation of a handgun in a low light environment with an emphasis on low light tactical shooting applications. The class will also address the following:

  • Firearms Safety

  • Weapon mounted lights

  • Hand held flashlight techniques

  • Tactical use of light

  • Low light shooting tactics

  • Positional shooting & Use of cover

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A BASIC PISTOL COURSE.

Students must possess safe gun handling skills and a functional understanding of pistol fundamentals, to include:

  • Functional application of the fundamentals of marksmanship

  • Presentation to the target (Open and/or Concealed)

  • Loading/unloading/reloading

  • Malfunction drills.

PISTOL 250 - EVERY DAY CARRY TACTICS

A1TG Every Day Carry (EDC) Tactics - 8 Hour Course

This course was developed for the American Citizen looking to enhance their concealed carry tactics. This class will also be beneficial to Military or Law Enforcement assigned to a plain clothes/undercover capacity, low visibility missions or protective details.

CONGRATULATOINS, you received your concealed carry license…Now What?

this course will address the essentials of carrying a firearm concealed. Including, choice of carry position, drawing from concealment, target engagement, movement, tactical shooting drills and more.

The class will address the following:

  • Firearms Safety

  • Everyday Carry Considerations

  • Working from concealment

  • Threat Considerations at Close range

  • Moving off the “X”

  • Proper Use of Cover

  • Low Light Considerations

  • Extreme close quarter tactics (Contact Range)

  • Fighting from the ground to your feet

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A BASIC PISTOL COURSE.

Students must possess safe gun handling skills and a functional understanding of pistol fundamentals, to include:

  • Functional application of the fundamentals of marksmanship

  • Presentation to the target (Open and/or Concealed)

  • Loading/unloading/reloading

  • Malfunction drills.

PISTOL 300 - DEADLY FORCE DECISION MAKING

A1TG Deadly Force Decision Making - 4 Hour or 8 Hour Course

Angel One Training Group, LLC is proud to offer the instruction of a DEADLY FORCE DECISION MAKING COURSE. This course was developed for Law Enforcement, Security Professional or the American Citizen who wish to learn how to utilize a threat discrimination process in a defensive handgun application, to protect themselves, those they are sworn to protect or their family.

This class focuses on handgun safety with an emphasis on the tactical shooting applications and the decision-making process of threat discrimination. The class will also address the following:

  • Firearms Safety

  • Target identification

  • Shooting while moving

  • Proper threat discrimination and target engagement

  • Methods of clearing a danger zone

  • Low Light Applications

  • 8 Hour block would include Building Search and Room Clearing

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A BASIC PISTOL COURSE.

Students must possess safe gun handling skills and a functional understanding of pistol fundamentals, to include:

  • Functional application of the fundamentals of marksmanship

  • Presentation to the target (Open and/or Concealed)

  • Loading/unloading/reloading

PISTOL 350 - DIAGNOSTIC PISTOL PERFORMANCE

A1TG Diagnostic Pistol Performance - 4 Hour or 8 Hour Course

This course was developed for Military, Law Enforcement, Private Security or the American Citizen looking to enhance their shooting ability.

Newer and experienced shooters alike will benefit from this class. Through proven diagnostic drills, we will identify any issues in your pistol skills that may exist. We will teach you how to correct common errors as well as the building blocks of performance shooting.

Through specifically designed drills created to build specific shooting skills the student will learn how to develop their individual shooting skills. These drills will also be used by the student during their own range training to sustain and continue your shooting skill development.

The class will address the following:

  • Firearms Safety

  • Diagnostic Shooting Drills

  • Mental approach to shooting

  • Trigger drills to enhance shooting fundamentals.

  • Performance Based vs. Result Based Training

  • Building “The Process”

  • Performance Shooting Drills and Standards

  • 2 Hand, Strong Hand and Support Hand Shooting

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A BASIC PISTOL COURSE.

Students must possess safe gun handling skills and a functional understanding of pistol fundamentals, to include:

  • Functional application of the fundamentals of marksmanship

  • Presentation to the target (Open and/or Concealed)

PISTOL 400 - FIGHT TO YOUR GUN

A1TG Fight To Your Gun - 8 Hour or 16 Hour (2 Day) Course

This course has evolved out courses originally developed by Steve Tarani for Law Enforcement and Military personnel. This course has been modified to meet the needs of either the LE/Mil/Security Professional or the Private Citizen who wishes to learn how to survive a close quarter attack and create the opportunity to get your firearm.

“If someone attacks me with an edged weapon, I’ll just shoot them”. This is what we have heard for years travelling around the country teaching these courses, and NO YOU WILL NOT! At contact range you MUST defend the attack first.

This class focuses on the concepts and principles of tactically defending against an extreme close quarter attack and creating the opportunity to deploy a concealed weapon. This class is tailored to clients who carry a concealed handgun, Plain Clothes/Undercover Law Enforcement, Military or CCW. You will learn the skills necessary to allow you the time and space to get to your concealed carry handgun during a close quarter attack.

This class can be done as a Non-Ballistic Course or a combination Non-Ballistic and Ballistic Course.

The classes will address the following:

Non-Ballistic Skills (Training Gun Only, NO LIVE FIRE)

  • Scale of Injury

  • Moving off the “X”

  • Contact vs. non-contact range

  • Gun vs. knife

  • Defense of lethal targets

  • Low line & high line defense

  • Creating a position of advantage

  • Weapon retention and counter retention

  • Ground defense & recovery options

Ballistic Skills (Live Fire)

  • Safe weapons handling

  • Moving while drawing

  • Drawing to retention

  • Shooting from retention positions

  • Target considerations at close quarters

  • Close contact firing drills

  • Weapons retention live fire drill

  • Disarming and firing drill

  • Firing from the supine position
