This was a personal project where I was asked if I could 3D Print a stronger version of a "Star" knob that was used to open shutters that were inside a home.
As the pictures show, two "forks" protrude from the base, and one fork snapped off.
The original company that produced the knobs did not exist anymore and the knobs were needed urgently.
Therefore, the idea was to 3D Model the original shape and then reinforce or redesign the two "forks".
The first idea was to re-create the original knob.
Due to the difference in texture, I printed a few knobs to replace the original knobs.
Unfortunately, the 3D printed knob also broke after the first try.
I then redesigned the knob to have a "hollow tube" rather than two "forks" and made it thick to add strength to it.
