The request was to use the Autodesk Fusion to determine the combustion volume of a Piston Head. I was given the 3D Model of the Piston Head and then using the tools in Autodesk Fusion, created a "solid" of the equivalent volume that the Piston Head filled.
As stated above, the exact volume of the Combustion Area for an AVL Piston Head was unknown.
The technical data sheet was blocked from the manufacturer and accessing it would require a large upfront cost.
The AVL Piston Head 3D model was given and then using the editing tools in Autodesk Fusion, I was able to accurately determine the volume of the combustion area.
This was new to me as usually I would be given the requirements first and then 3D Model what is needed from the beginning, so this was a new challenge for me, especially as I was relatively new to the program too at the time.
The video shows the process I went through to obtain the volume of the Combustion Area.
As shown in the picture, the volume of the "solid", which is the same volume of the Combustion Area is 88515.99 mm³ or 88.51599 cm³.
