This was a personal project where I was asked if I could 3D Print a smaller funnel for a coffee machine.
The original funnel was considered too large for its actual needs. Therefore, the request was to make the funnel for the coffee beans smaller, while still fitting into the original fittings as shown in the pictures on the right.
First I needed to 3D Model the ideal funnel. The tricky part was threading for the 3D printed funnel to work with the existing parts of the coffee machine.
After printing out the threading and making sure that it worked with the existing parts, I added the funnel section to the thread and printed out the whole piece.
One restriction was to minimise the use of 3D Printing for all the small individual parts that did not need to be replaced. Therefore, the funnel was made and included the threading so that the funnel could be turned into the original fitting while also keeping the same side for the lid.
The funnel was set up in the coffee machine and met the requirement that was asked.
