Badger and Ivy framed plaque

Description

A hand made earthenware, ceramic plaque made from an original drawing carved into lino and relief printed onto thin slabs of clay. Decorated with a copper slip, oxides, underglazes and a transparent glaze where the dark brown, metallic copper finish magically turns to green. It is very light weight and can be bought without the stand if you would like to frame it yourself or add a hanger to the back. Zoom in on the images to take a closer look at the detail.

The oak stand is designed specifically for the size and weight of the these tiles and are hand made from European oak with the help of my father in law. Each stand is slightly different due to the nature of the material and process.

This is a decorative not functional item, some areas are left unglazed and remain porous. It has a makers mark and an individual number on the base.
