Grade Level Planning
AMS teachers meet as a grade level bi-weekly to collaborate and plan interdisciplinary STEM lessons and progress toward their year-long PBL. Interdisciplinary lessons are documented using an online log via Office 365.
During grade level meetings, teachers work across all disciplines to plan STEM lessons that interrelate to multiple standards.
Beginning in the fall of 2026, AMS teachers will intentionally plan STEM lessons through their online interdisciplinary logs, with lesson development and implementation documented in their STEM journals.
Collaborative Team Planning
AMS teachers collaborate twice a week from 7:30am-8:10am with their collaborative planning team. These are teachers within the same content and grade level. Meeting minutes include our standards-based instructional framework, interdisciplinary connections, and progress toward our PBL.
This year, AMS redesigned the collaborative planning schedule to accommodate science and math vertical collaboration on the same day each week. Monthly, all science and math teachers cohesively plan and design interdisciplinary lessons and evaluate the progress of the long-term PBL in each grade level.
