Stable Snaps are 3D printed "stability cups" which help to prevent Stablemate models from playing dominoes, or taking a leap off of your shelves or show table! The unique interlocking design makes the Snaps adjustable to fit nearly any width of space. Lightweight PETG or PLA is easy to transport to shows or store when not in use. Pair with museum putty, sticky wax, etc. underneath the row of cups OR use tiny finishing nails that will fit through the side slots (if your setup is permanent!) for even greater enhanced stability. We recommend using a minimum of 3 cups in a chain to create stabilization.
Each cup has a knob on one end and a circular "receiver" on the other end - like puzzle pieces. To attach them, press two Snaps together until they sit flat next to each other. They can be attached by pressing the knob end down, pressing the other end onto the knob from above. To unlock Snaps from each other, either turn them sideways or tilt at a 45 degree angle to free the Snaps.
*WARNING: Small parts pose a choking hazard. Do not leave unattended around children or pets, or anyone who may stick them in their mouths - especially while unsnapped.
Our Stable Snaps come in 4 sizes - Small, Medium, Large, and XL. See the list below of the Breyer molds I recommend for each size! All Snaps have the same connection, so you can mix and match the sizes next to each other, if you do not like to display in congas, for example. NEW feature - the size of each Snap is noted on the bottom by an S, M, L, or X - if they are hard to see on certain colors, they can also be felt.
Also available - flat spacers that do not include the boot portion! These are useful for providing additional space between models, for example if you like to group your models other than by mold, or if you like to place your Stablemates on a shelf in front of larger models, and some of them need to tuck in between.
We can print your Snaps in any color that is commercially available in PETG or PLA! We are periodically adding to our collection of spools, but we're happy to order a specific color for you (note that this will add to the wait time for an order). NOTE: As of July 2024, we are planning to phase out ABS in favor of PETG plastics. PETG provides the same higher heat tolerance as ABS and is safer for us to work with in our current environment. ABS is not dangerous to anyone once printed/cooled, only when at melting point while printing (or we'd all be in trouble with our modern Stablemates!!)
Currently available color spools!
BLACK, GRAY, WHITE, BLUE, RED, PURPLE, ORANGE, CLEAR, NEON GREEN, METALLIC ROYAL PURPLE, PALE PINK, YELLOW, FOREST GREEN, GOLD, SILVER, COPPER, TEAL, LIGHT BLUE, LIGHT PURPLE, HOT PINK
Please see our image carousel in the section below and swipe through to see examples of each color!

We offer an introductory package that gives you 5 of each size to try out for $10! (Shown to the right!) *This package also includes 1 flat spacer to demonstrate how those work!
All other orders are considered Custom Orders and will be based on the size and amount of Snaps in your order. Ordering in a larger group will be less costly than smaller orders with fewer units!
If your order will be shipped, I use exact shipping to calculate, so I cannot offer a final amount until the order is ready to be packed and weighed. You will not be expected to pay until that time. Shipping & Handling costs may be slightly higher than what shows up on your package label to account for my time, gas, and shipping materials to get the packages out. If I've overcharged by a significant amount for any reason, I will offer a partial refund to reflect the difference.
April 2025 - We are committed to keeping our price structure the same for as long as possible within this uncertain global environment! Currently, we have plenty of material left on most spools and/or existing printed inventory ready to go, so we do not anticipate needing to raise prices anytime soon. Also, just a kind reminder that I do not think badly of anyone who needs to cancel orders regardless of reason - whatever isn't purchased can just go back into the inventory pool. Unlike selling unique models, it's not a huge hindrance to me to miss a sale. Anyone who wants to buy but runs into financial issues is welcome to return at a later time. Cancellation/refunds are available straight away unless your package has already left, in which case you would be offered a refund only upon return of the package to me without loss or damage.
AVAILABILITY
We offer several options to get your new Snaps home!
Shipping is available, including International, to most locations. International packages will be labeled with the exact value and international customers are to acknowledge their sole responsibility for any customs/duty fees. I can also ship to a trusted contact of yours in the States, but once that order ships I am not responsible for making sure it gets to you safely.
*December 2024: As we are not an official business, we may not necessarily be bound by the new laws in the EU, however, we will do our best to ensure we are not violating any laws should those apply to individual persons. A more thorough review of the rules will take place this winter and the result may determine if we are able to continue offering shipping to this region. We appreciate your patience during this time.
I often attend live shows and swap meets in New England, Eastern NYS, Long Island, and potentially northeastern NJ. My next events are:
New England Novice Extravganza (NENE) & New England Mini Extravaganza (NEME) - August 23rd & 24th, 2025 - I am hosting these events - Show info: https://regionxnation.com/shows/detail/324 , https://regionxnation.com/shows/detail/325
**While I will be attending BreyerFest/Equilocity this summer, I am not making plans to attend the Swap Meet as I did last year. I'll be arriving in KY Wednesday late afternoon/evening and I am happy to arrange a time to meet up for pre-order/intro packs delivery prior to the end of events on Sunday afternoon. I am slowly arranging my schedule but I'll know more as we get closer. If you are interested in making plans to meet me & pick up an order, please reach out by email before July 1st. Large orders of 30+ pieces and especially more than 50 pieces must be placed no later than June 21st.
I am also willing to arrange local pickup within half an hour of Vernon CT on most weeknights, or within 2 hours roundtrip of Vernon CT or Granby MA on most weekends.
ORDER COMPLETION TIME
All orders will be subject to print time/availability. For small orders, such as the $10 packs, I may have enough on hand (especially if you do not have a color preference) to ship within a few days. For larger orders, there will be some wait time depending on how many other orders are in the queue. We will do our best to estimate the time to complete- I expect this will improve over time as we complete more orders. If you are requesting a custom color that we do not have on hand, please allow extra time for the spool to arrive. We usually purchase through Amazon, so wait times tend to be small, but this is not guaranteed.
If I have more than one order going out at a similar time, I will wait to go to the PO until they are all ready to go. We do work from home, but I cannot make multiple trips per week to the PO. (We also do not have a functional paper printer, so I can't do labels and get pickup.) Order tracking numbers are sent as soon as I've dropped them off.
HOW TO ORDER
My specific contact info can be found at the bottom of every page on this site!
You can contact me by email, Facebook Messenger, Instagram private messages, Discord private message, or a private message on forum sites like Model Horse Blab and please include:
The number of Snaps you'd like to order
Size of the Snaps and how many of each, if you are ordering more than one size
Color(s) that you'd like
If you are international, what country you're buying from
Payment is accepted via PayPal G&S for orders that will be shipped. Postal MO would be difficult as I do not finish order quotes until they are packed and weighed, so there would be additional wait time involved once the order is prepared. However, if you're ok with that, I would be willing to accept this payment type from folks I've worked with before and those with excellent reputations. Cash is accepted for in-person/event pickup, but PayPal is also ok. I do not have any other payment apps and I don't intend on getting them. I'm also not comfortable with other MO types or cash sent in the mail. Payment in any situation is not due until your order is ready, boxed, and I offer you shipping quotes. This method is easier for me to track and avoids anxiety for all parties if there are printing delays or the printer needs repairs/upgrades.
WE DO RAFFLE DONATIONS!
Are you hosting an upcoming live show? We are happy to donate an introductory package to your raffle! Please reach out to me with the following details:
Your name
Name of your show
Show date & location
Theme colors for the show, if any (we may be able to print in your colors!)
Your Address to ship to (unless it is a show I'm attending myself)
We ask for a minimum lead time of 1 month for any raffle requests to be shipped within the USA, and 3 months if possible for International. We will pay for shipping and declare exact value but note that International folks may be subject to customs/duty fees if the package is determined to be eligible for this, and all customs/duty fees are the responsibility of the addressee. We are willing to ship to a designated trusted 3rd party in the USA if you like to save on shipping, but at the time that the package arrives at the 3rd party from us, we are no longer responsible for making sure the package arrives to you. Please only ship to someone that you trust well.
Purchased a starter pack but simply weren't satisfied with the colors that were available? Wanting to customize your Conga coloring but couldn't coordinate the collection accordingly? Feel like switching it up but don't want a ton of extra snaps sitting around that don't color match?
Introducing the Stable Snap Swap program!
If you bought a starter pack or a set and find that you don't like the color or it doesn't match the colors you want for a larger order, you can swap your old snaps for the colors you do want for a small fee.
How it works and exclusions that would apply
This is a 1 for 1 swap, smalls swapped for smalls, med for med, etc. each snap is charged a replacement fee since we'll need to produce the replacements in the color you are requesting. Price is $0.10 (USD) per snap + S/H
What about Damaged snaps?
It depends! Firstly if they were damaged due to manufacturing error, these will be replaced without cost. 3D printing is tricky and quality can vary, we won't charge you for something we mess up! I stepped on mine and broke it... can it be sent back as well or am I going to pollute the world by adding more plastic to the landfill? We will accept damaged or broken snaps, they will unfortunately need to be charged as a full replacement. So if you send a broken one back as part of this offer it will be at the cost of a new one. EX: starter set with 2 broken smalls, will be replaced with equivalent starter set at 0.10 per good one sent back and you will only be charged additionally the 0.50 per 2 smalls to replace them.
What about Seconds?
Yes, we accept those back too, though those will be treated the same as broken ones if you are looking for new non-seconds in return. the condition of purchasing a second is understood that you are agreeing to receiving a defective quality one at a lower cost at the time of purchase. So to obtain a non-defective quality in return will be charged as a new one and not the swap price.
I changed my mind and want a different color set after swapping, can I swap again?
Within reason yes, extravagant color requests and continuing to swap these will have an implied reasonable limit invoked if abused. For now we trust you will chose a color and not be changing your mind every couple of days.
Is there a quantity limit? I have a big order of them and the color doesn't match what I want to change to, can I still swap them?
It will depend, right now to produce sets we are limited on capacity of the printer and time to turn the order around, if you have a massive collection of snaps sitting the several hundred and you want to swap them out for a completely new color palette, we can arrange it but understand it may take additional time to process the request, and much like changing your mind often, we will reserve the right to impose a reasonable restriction. Since we're still new into this we don't have a hard limit, but can definitely discuss options if you really don't like the colors you have and would be okay with waiting a bit for the swap to complete.
What happens to the ones I return?
Transparency in business is always good, so yes we will share that information.
Broken ones (not suitable for use or resale) are recycled, defective ones that are seconds will be inspected and resold if still usable as seconds, otherwise they will be recycled. Good ones will be cleaned and resold either as starter sets or used to fulfill a bulk order of that color. We would eventually like to have a setup where we can melt down unusable Snaps and scraps from the printing process, to then be used again for printing (personal projects & prototyping), but this is not yet possible for us.
Mine are an older plastic (ABS or PLA), can I swap for ones in PETG?
Yes, although right now we don't have a lot of filament and spool material options. Unless you specifically request a material it will be with what we have on hand in the color choice you requested.
Stable Snaps are made out of either PETG or PLA plastic. While these two plastics feel similar to the touch, they have slightly different properties.
PETG plastic, when not in its melted (printing/casting) state, is more stable at higher environment temperatures. I recommend PETG for folks who live in hot regions and do not keep their collections in climate control. PETG is better from an environmental impact perspective than the ABS we started with.
PLA plastic is the most environmentally friendly, but it can start warping at a lower temperature than PETG. This plastic is fine to use for anyone who lives in generally cooler climates, and/or those who keep their collections in temperature control. If you have PLA Snaps and you're traveling with them to a show, be sure to not leave them in your hot car in the parking lot.
I would not recommend using your dishwasher to clean either type of plastic - plus they are too small. Gentle warm water and soap should be sufficient in most cases.
If you have any concerns about your models getting damaged by the Snaps, there is usually enough space inside the boot to add a layer of silk or muslin to offer extra protection. We have yet to see or hear any reports of models being damaged by Snaps, that is just a tip for anyone who would like the extra security. :)
*Older Snaps, and remaining on hand inventory until otherwise stated may also be made out of ABS. Care instructions for ABS are the same as the other two plastics. As mentioned in an earlier section, we are phasing out ABS spools for making new Snaps as there is some material hazard at melted (printing) temps, but the cooled/set material poses no known risk to anyone. We do not need to issue any recall for ABS Snaps or any other drastic measures, this is merely a voluntary operational improvement for our health. If cooled/set ABS was dangerous, all of us Stablemate collectors would be in trouble!
We absolutely love hearing from folks about how their Snaps are working out! Thank you to everyone so far for sharing your photos and testimonials. Thank you to Erin C for this cute one of your foals!
If you do have any questions or concerns about how your Snaps are working, if you are having any difficulty using them, please also reach out - I'm happy to talk through it and help if I can.

Larah M shared these two photos of her Stablemate Throughbred Mare "Tripod", who has been missing a hind leg for 30 years! With the assistance of a Snap, Tripod can stand again!
Audra L brought her Red Snaps to coordinate with her tablecloth at NENE 2024!
In 2023, we created Awards orders for 3 shows! Rainbow Rave Live in Ohio, Scratch & Dent Live in Massachusetts (one of my shows), and GPMHS Size Doesn't Matter in Pennsylvania!
It is always a fantastic process to work with show hosts, deciding what colors to use, and determining award tiers! :) If you are hosting an upcoming show and you are looking for fun and functional awards for Minis, send me a note!

G1 Draft
G4 Draft
Fell Pony
Standing QH (Para Dressage)
Django
G3 TWH
Trotting WB (Dressage)
The XL size at this point primarily fits the G2 Clydesdale & Horatio (Mini Othello)!
I would say this might be the best candidate for any larger molds you'd like to try, such as CollectA, Paddock Pal/Little Bits, or Classic Foal molds.
Please note that for the larger molds, you may have to space them two Snaps apart, or use a spacer Snap in between.
As for the rest of the Breyer molds...
The G2 Arabian, G3 Andalusian, and the Fighting Stallion can fit if they are not displayed rearing. Brio can fit a back leg, but if he's tipped forward he'll fall over even in the Snaps
The Vanner's feet are too big and fluffy!
The Lippizan, G3 Mustang, G2 Standardbred, and Fjord don't really have the greatest angles for fitting into the Snaps and may not be compatible
The WB Jumper as well as both of the Lying Foals do not need stands
Copperfox molds!
XL - Winston (Shire)
L - none
M - Irish Sport Horse, Rose (Hackney Pony), Welsh Cob [hind leg]
S - Trifle (Exmoor), Cadno (Connemara), Scamp (Shetland), Otto (Foal)
No fit - Epona (Vanner), Oswin (Fox)
Thank you to Amanda B for testing these molds and sending pictures!
We hope you enjoy Stable Snaps as much as we do! Thank you for stopping by!
