Between planning, packing, and travel, a single weekend camping trip takes about 8.5 hours of effort. For most people, squeezing in more trips isn’t realistic, so how do you make each one count for more?
Camping offers a chance to step away from daily stress, relax, connect with the people around you, and immerse yourself in nature.
Instead of optimizing the inside of the tent as an isolated environment, how can design better integrate the outdoors and reduce the separation created by the rainfly?
After the initial proof of concept, a 1/4-scale model was used to refine the dimensions and patterning before building the final functional prototype.
The entire rainfly adjustment should happen from inside the tent without needing to open doors, and it should be quick, simple, and require only a few steps.
