Accessibility

Introduction

We will do everything we can to make our services as accessible as possible.  If there's an area we can improve then please come and talk to us.

Hearing

We use a sound system to amplify all of the people taking part in the service.  Some parts of the church are louder than others so feel free to move about to find the ideal spot for you.  If you make use of a hearing aid that can make us of an induction loop (sometimes called the 'T' position) then the right hand side of the church (as you look towards the front) is equipped with a induction loop that is compatible with NHS hearing aids.

If you find our Sunday morning service too loud or chaotic then other services during the week are quieter and there are also some quieter services at our sister church in Betley.

Mobility

Our church has fully step free access from the car park to the main body of the church.  The ramp is quite steep, but does have hand rails on both sides to assist.  There is a photographic route at the bottom of this page.

Communion is taken "on the level" so there are no steps if you are able to walk and wish to take communion, but the clergy will happily bring communion to you if you let the sides-people know that is what you would prefer.

There is no requirement to stand for the hymns or prayers, we are a very informal church and while most people will stand and sit in the traditional way, we're happy for you to remain seated.  If you think you'll find that embarrassing then please feel free to ask the sides-people if you can sit at the back with the technical team.  The technical team rarely follow the rules anyway.

If you can stand, but need to hold on to crutches or the pew in front you will find all the liturgy and hymn words are projected onto screens so there's no need to hold any books during the service.

If you have a mobility issue and you would like to take part in the service then we have radio microphones we can bring to you rather than you having to go to them.  Readings and prayers can easily be led from the pews.

Visually Impaired

We project out liturgy and songs on screens in the church, so if you've forgotten your reading glasses, do not worry!  Large print editions of the communion liturgy and large print bibles are available from the sides-people if you prefer.

Car Park to Pew

The church car park is next to the church in vicarge lane.   CW3 9PQ will direct your sat nav to the right location

The lower car park entrance is opposite the ramp entrance.  There are two dropped curbs, offset from the ramp itself to the left and right.

The ramp turns sharp left and sharp right with a handrail one side before heading up the slope

The path has handrails on both sides for the steeper section.  At the top turn left towards the porch door

The porch door is a double door which can be opened if required for pushchairs.

The main entrance to the church has a short ramp down.

The main area is fully step free.
