Volunteer as an Event Coach

Parents play a crucial role in our team's journey. They can volunteer as event coaches, sharing their expertise and helping students prepare for their events. 

Becoming an event coach for the Allen Elementary Science Olympiad Team is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young minds. As an event coach, you will play a crucial role in preparing our students for the May competition. Many kids may have limited knowledge about the event topics, so you will have the exciting task of teaching and guiding them. Whether you have prior teaching or science experience or not, there are plenty of events to choose from that require varying levels of scientific knowledge. You can select an event that aligns with your interests and strengths. Rest assured, there is ample support available within Allen and the wider WESO community to help you get started. 

• Plan and lead weekly 1 hour practices with  4 - 20 students for your assigned event (usually about 10 practices)

• Help recruit students for your team

• Attend the day-long competition in May
