Adolph John Graf was my grandfather. He was married to Zoella Ruth Terry

MY GRANDFATHER, ADOLPH JOHN GRAF, WAS BORN IN THE TOWN OF ST. PETER, KANSAS ON JUNE 26, 1913. I BELIEVE HE CAME OUT TO CALIFORNIA SOME TIME DURING THE DUST BOWL YEARS IN THE 1930s. I BELIEVE HE MET HIS FUTURE BRIDE, MY GRANDMOTHER, ZOELLA RUTH TERRY (BORN JUNE 21, 1919) IN SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, WHILE HE WAS RESIDING AT A BOARDINGHOUSE WHILE SHE WAS WORKING THERE. ZOELLA ALSO CAME OUT DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION. SHE WAS BORN IN BYRON, OKLAHOMA, AND MOVED DUE TO THE HORRID WEATHER CONDITIONS THAT WERE AFFECTING THE HEALTH OF HER YOUNGEST BROTHER, DONNY O'DELL. ADOLPH AND ZOELLA WOULD MARRY ON OCTOBER 28, 1938. THEY WOULD LIVE OUT "IN THE AVENUES" IN THE SUNSET DISTRICT OF SAN FRANCISCO UNTIL MY GRANDFATHER PASSED AWAY. ADOLPH JOHN GRAF DIED ON FEBRUARY 22, 1978. MY GRANDMOTHER, ZOELLA, CONTINUED TO LIVE IN THAT HOUSE UNTIL A YEAR BEFORE HER DEATH. SHE DIED ON APRIL 18, 2003.

Adolph's high school basketball team. Adolph received a scholarship to play for the University of Kansas but his parents rejected the idea and wanted him to stay home and work on the farm. So, Adolph did what others would do - moved from home to California, where he would eventually meet my grandmother.

An undated photo of Michael Graf (1884 - 1964) in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.

Michael would come to San Francisco and often just sit for hours at Ocean Beach because he was always at awe with that amount of water. He was young when he came to America, so when he moved to Kansas, he did not have much time to visit the ocean until much later in life. 

This is a photo of Peter Braun, (1887 - 1974), uncle of Adolph, the younger brother of Adolph's mom, Catherine

On the left is Ella (Eckroat) Braun (1881 - 1966), married to Frank Braun (1877 - 1942), brother of Catherine (Braun) Graf, my great-grandmother.

On the right is Michael's sister, Clara (Graf) Schmidtberger (1899 - 1996).

I believe this is a photo of great-grandmother, Catherine Graf, holding Sabina (the back of the photo states "Sophia" but I do believe it is Aunt Toby), and standing is Robert. Photo is taken in 1921.
