A QR code is a series of shapes generated to connect a link to an easily scannable image for convenience of sharing. Most smartphones can scan QR codes, so it is a very easy way for people to share links without having someone's contact information to email or message them a QR code. One can make a QR code through computer apps, or apps in Canva, as well as Google Chrome's built in QR code feature. QR codes could be used as quick ways to get students to join some kind of quiz or poll used for formative assessment. It could also be used to share a video with them or some other kind of quick resource for them to use on their own. QR codes could also be used to help students share something with the teacher if it was included as part of an assignment. I put my QR code in Canva by using the built in QR code app and pasting the link I wanted into the app, with which it made the code for me to move around to where I wanted it in my design.
QR codes can fit into the Danielson framework Element 3C, as it helps students stay engaged in learning by giving them a way to get to a new learning resource quickly. Using QR codes can also fit into element 1F, as they are easy ways to share assessments a teacher may have designed for that class.Â
