Cross Curricular Activity

For our lesson on observing the solar system through math, we created an engaging and interactive experience for students to learn about the planets' and their characteristics. This lesson combines Math and Physics as well as learning about the Solar System on around a 5th-6th grade level. First we introduce all of the planets to the students in an interactive slideshow as well as giving "fast facts" on each planet. Then we move on to giving our students a math problem made using Canva about calculating the distances between planets. After this we do a Quizziz on what was learned in the slideshow for our formative assessment. The 4 tools from class that we used for this project were ChatGPT, Canva, Flip, and Quizziz. We used ChatGPT to help us create some content for the slideshow. We used Canva to help create the math problem about calculating the distance between planets. We used Flip to record our presentation and we used Quizziz for a formative assessment.
