Curipod is a website for making interactive presentations in the classroom. It uses Artificial Intelligence to generate slides to help get a teacher started on a presentation of whatever topic and grade level they wish. Once the AI has generated the slides to begin, it can also be used to generate new additions to the slides. Some of the things that can be added to the slides are interactive polls and questions, along with other forms of formative assessment. Teachers can then present the slides and have students join using a QR code or link so they can vote on polls and answer questions.
This website for presentation creation is supported by the Danielson Framework for Teaching. Element C from Domain 3 is a great tie in to Curipod, as it is a website that specializes in engaging students through interactive tools. Curipod has countless ways to keep students engaged in learning about a topic. And if a teacher doesn't have any ideas for what to add they can get some inspiration from the AI in the website. Another part of Danielson is professional development and as AI becomes more prominent, teachers should take it upon themselves to learn about it, and using Curipod would be a great way to stay in the know about Artificial Intelligence.
Curipod meets the ISTE Standards for Educators as well. It meets standards 2.5 and 2.6 rather well as it helps teachers fulfill their roles as facilitators and designers very well. Teachers can facilitate learning by letting students join so they can partake in the formative assessment that the website offers. Formative assessment is very helpful in checking students' progress as they learn. Teachers can also design lessons and use their creativity to make these presentations.
A teacher could use this as a good way to introduce new topics to students in presentations. It has a lot of ways to use formative assessment, making sure students are understanding as the topic gets introduce. I am not sure if I would use this in my future classroom. It is kind of difficult to make the slide show because of the lack of tools for designing the slides. I would still rather use PowerPoint to make a presentation and maybe if I needed ideas for formative assessment tools I would use Curipod.
