Museum Studies

NMU has some really meaningful biological collections - from plants to insects to crabs to mammals, our collections are growing and developing. The ornithological collection has benefited from the work and interest of several community volunteers, and lots of interested students. Students these days are deeply involved in continuing to build our study and teaching skin collections, in developing an online database available to the public, and in using these collections for studies of biodiversity, biogeography and conservation. We are especially excited to work with Kurt Galbreath's lab group as we move the mammal and avian collections into new storage cabinets!
