The Plainclothes Uniform provides guidance for authorized civilian attire used by Special Agents and support personnel when operationally necessary to blend into non-tactical environments, conduct investigations, perform surveillance, or execute duties where identification would compromise safety, confidentiality, or investigative objectives. Plainclothes uniform provides Special Agents with a low-profile and discreet attire.
Authorized Usage:
Authorized Users
The Plainclothes Uniform may be worn by Criminal Investigative Division personnel.
Authorized Situations
Routine field investigations, interviews, and local calls.
Surveillance and mobile operations requiring non-attributed presence.
Field assignments in civilian-populated environments where overt tactical attire would be disruptive.
Enforcement situations where agents must initially blend in, however, require a rapid transition to visible identification when contact occurs.
Approval Requirements
CID personnel do not require individual authorization to wear the plainclothes uniform during routine duties. Supervisors may, however, restrict or mandate its use based on the operational context. Any modification to color, insignia, or configuration must be pre-approved by the Special Agent in Charge.

Allowed/Recommended Items:
Backpack
A low-profile, civilian-appearing backpack is authorized to discreetly transport and conceal mission-essential items such as Short Barreled Rifles (SBRs) in approved cases, breaching tools, extra magazines, evidence collection kits, or other operational equipment.
Duty Belt/Low Profile Gun Belt
Any belt may be used at the agent's discretion to carry the service weapon and other tools. The issued (in-game) duty belt may be used, or an approved personal belt may be used at the agent's discretion.
Badge
A badge on the belt or neck may be displayed for identification if the conditions allow.
Note: Some belts may cover parts of the badge, including the recommended one.
