Overview - Training Division

CIRG enables the FBI to rapidly respond to, and effectively manage, special crisis incidents in the United States. CIRG integrates tactical and investigative resources and expertise for critical incidents which necessitate an immediate response from law enforcement. CIRG will work with other units to deploy investigative specialists to respond to terrorist activities, hostage takings, child abductions and other high-risk repetitive violent crimes.

Mission

To formulate advanced strategies, manage terrorism, hostage situations, kidnappings, or high-risk situations, and if possible resolve them without loss of life.

1.1 Major Crimes Unit (3A)

Overview

The Inspection Division Directive provides independent assessments of internal audits and compliance measures to ensure transparency and accountability across all operational sectors.

1.2 Evidence Response Team (3B)

Overview

The Office of Professional Responsibility enforces ethical policies and investigates allegations of misconduct within the organization, and recommends disciplinary actions for the command team. Their authority stands above the Associate Director, being able to investigate their misconduct.

1.3 Intelligence Support Unit (3C)

Overview

The Office of Integrity and Compliance ensures all agency operations and regulations adhere to established legal and ethical guidelines. OIC reviews and approves operation reports, use of force cases, arrest logs, and regulatory changes to the Bureau. Their authority stands across all FBI divisions.

1.4 Supervisor Team (3D)

Overview

The Office of Internal Affairs is responsible for investigating internal misconduct and ensuring organizational transparency. Office of Internal Affairs generally handle lower-level misconduct observations and complaints. IA may investigate high-profile cases alongside OPR.
