Our Training Division and Supervisor Team works to provide all new employees with the best onboarding experience. We ensure that our training program and probationary system can properly prepare agents for the field. Here's what you can expect:

Human Resources branch specialists will review your application and determine your eligibility. This process should take under 12 hours for you to get a response.
If HR accepts your application, it will be forwarded to Inspection Division who will conduct a background investigation. This process may take up to 24 hours, and will include criminal and employment history.
Once you pass your background investigation, you will complete an extensive and rigorous training course, where your field skills will be taught and evaluated, including use of force, driving, legal procedures and rights.
Upon completion of the BFTC course, you will be placed on probationary. During this period, Training Division instructors and supervisory special agents will complete shifts with you, before promoting you to a Special Agent.
