Family ▪️ Isolation & Freedom▪️ Faith & Spirituality ▪️ Heightened Language
“ This is a layered, poetic, and brilliant piece. It is astounding. The gradual progression of language and ideas is like a zoomed-out perspective, kind of like looking down at the countryside from an airplane, houses and cars like ants. The story itself is intense, literary, and well worth producing widely and being studied. It's the kind of play that is so deeply layered and beautiful you could study it in a college course and I hope it is someday. Masterful. ”
In the wake of their expulsion from Eden, Adam and Eve struggle to guide their sons, Cain and Abel, amidst rising tensions and divergent paths in faith. As Cain seeks freedom beyond their constrained and dying world, Adam desperately tries to hold onto his power as a patriarch. In the name of survival and lost paradise, their conflicting views threaten to destroy their little family.
Progressing through the language and themes of playwriting from the 15th to 21st century, one family struggles to comprehend the difference between punishment and paradise, faith and failure.
