The initial layer before the first spin of the plant. I focused on defining the overall silhouette of the plant before outlining & differentiating the specifics.
After the first spin; I decided to identify each layer with a specific color, but continued working in the same process of focusing on overall shape + accentuating new details.
The second to last rotation. Follows the same formula as below, although I decided to start filling some details in to begin finishing the piece.

Series of timed figurative gesture drawings done in sharpie (and a bit of charcoal). 3 at 10 minutes, 4 at 5 minutes, 5 at 2 minutes, and 6 at 1 minute each. Focus was placed on the shapes created by positive & negative space, and the overall sense of movement in the models of line-of-action.com. (above)
