A Eulogy for a Stranger (2025), ceramic w/ underglaze. $150
Thumbnail sketch & design notes for A Eulogy For a Stranger. The platter uses the blue-and-white plate formula to tell a store about the transition of myself and my feelings towards death.
Having survived a suicide attempt, I have always struggled with an overwhelming apathy towards the concept. The piece symbolizes myself before the event as a sacrificial lamb, a cultural & historical symbol. The universal symbol acts as a transition, with the survival and growth into something new being represented by a personal symbol: the Borzoi, a sight hound.
