As a Volunteer

Sign up for my newsletter to hear about opportunities to volunteer in planting and maintaining California Native plants at Burrowing Owl Billows in Shoreline Park, Mountain View, California as part of the "Habitat Enhancement" approach to saving the owls.

You only need your own pair of gloves, facemask, close-toed shoes, long pants, water bottle, and sun-protection. Shovels, wheel barrels, pick axes, and other tools are provided.

Volunteers at our planting in November 2018.

With ~$500, we purchased 50 California Native plants, spent ~3.5 hours with 5 volunteers to plant them all at Burrowing Owl Billows.

Check out Stories of The Billows to see more photos of the volunteers, their work, and where they've played a role in this unfolding story!

Volunteers at our planting in December 2019.

With ~$1900, we purchased 160 California Native plants, spent ~4 hours with 14 volunteers to plant them all at Burrowing Owl Billows.

You can also volunteer your time to learning how to paint rocks to look like burrowing owls! Spreading these rocks spreads the word! Coo-coo! It's also fun to paint. 🎨
