Most advice about EDCC10, the code that takes 10% off an Airalo plan price, stops at the moment the discounted eSIM finds a signal abroad. The return leg matters too. Airalo is a marketplace reselling prepaid data from local operators as eSIM profiles, and the profile you installed stays on the phone after you land unless you do something about it. A short wind-down keeps your home line behaving normally, keeps the account usable for a future purchase, and keeps your records straight.
The 10% came off the plan price shown in the store. It did not add data allowance or extra days of validity, so the package you are now finishing is exactly the same package a full-price buyer had. Two consequences follow on the way home:
Unused data does not roll over once the validity window closes. There is nothing to bank for next time.
If you later request a refund or raise a chargeback on that order, the amount returned is what you actually paid, not the pre-discount price, and the voucher itself does not come back.
The code was applied before payment and cannot be attached to a completed order afterwards, so there is no post-trip route to a retroactive 10%.
Turn off Data Roaming for the Airalo line. You enabled it for that line only on arrival; switch it back off so nothing else changes.
Set your home line back as the line used for mobile data if you switched it while away.
Check that calls and texts are routed through your home number again, since most Airalo packages are data-only with no local number or traditional SMS.
If a plan you bought did include a phone number, note that it stops being useful once validity ends.
There is no rule in the published terms about deleting a spent eSIM. The practical consideration is that top-ups are bought from My eSIMs and added to an already installed eSIM, rather than by buying a new profile. If you expect to return to the same destination and the same package is still available, leaving the profile in place keeps that route open. If you prefer a clean phone, remember that reinstalling later means going back through the install step, which needs an internet connection, so do it at home over Wi-Fi rather than in an airport queue.
Keep the account either way. An Airalo account is required in practice so eSIMs can be reinstalled or topped up, and it is where My eSIMs, your purchase history and future installs live. It can be reached by email, Google or Apple sign-in.
The receipt is emailed after payment, and there is no physical shipping to track: delivery was a QR code or direct install link. Save the email with the order summary showing the discount line, because that is the record of what you paid on a discounted order if support questions arise later. Bank foreign transaction fees and exchange rates sit outside checkout and were never reduced by the code, so the card statement figure may not match the receipt total exactly.
For the next trip, several points are simply not published: whether EDCC10 is single-use per account or reusable, whether it applies to repeat purchases as well as first ones, whether top-ups count as eligible orders, and its exact expiry date. Codes on the platform are typically single-use per account, so treat a second use as unproven. The honest test is to reach the payment screen, expand the promo code row, enter the code with no spaces and see whether a discount line appears and the total drops by 10%. Creating a duplicate account to force a second use breaches retailer terms and risks the accounts, so that is not a workaround.
