The 10% discount attached to EDCC10 is applied at checkout on airalo.com or in the Airalo app, and it behaves the same way whichever handset you hold: it reduces the plan price shown in the store, not the data allowance or the validity window. What changes between an iPhone and an Android phone is the route you take around the code — how you sign in, which payment button you are offered, and how the eSIM profile lands on the device afterwards. Knowing those differences in advance stops you fumbling at the payment screen and leaving the discount unapplied.
Airalo asks for an account in practice, because purchased eSIMs sit under My eSIMs and that is where reinstalls and top-ups are handled. Sign-up is available by email, Google sign-in or Apple sign-in. iPhone owners will usually reach for Apple sign-in, Android owners for Google, but nothing forces that pairing — the important point is to remember which route you used, since the discount and the eSIM both belong to one account. Create or sign in to the account before you start the purchase rather than partway through it.
After choosing a destination plan and confirming its data allowance and validity, press Buy Now to reach the order summary. In the app the promo code entry is a tappable row marked with a tag or ticket icon, sitting above the total; on the web it is a text box inside the order summary panel. Type EDCC10 exactly, with no spaces, apply it, and check that a discount line appears and the total falls by 10% before paying. The code cannot be added once the order is complete, and there is no reliable way to get the 10% credited back afterwards.
Payment options include cards and, depending on region, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal. The wallet button you see is device-dependent, and it makes no difference to the discount, which is already reflected in the total by the time you authorise payment. Foreign transaction fees and exchange rates applied by your bank sit outside checkout and are not reduced by the code.
There is no physical shipping. Delivery is a direct install link or a QR code with an SM-DP+ address and activation code, both reached from My eSIMs, and a receipt arrives by email. Installation needs an internet connection, so do it at home over Wi-Fi rather than on patchy airport signal.
Device support is the real dividing line. The phone must be eSIM-capable and carrier-unlocked; carrier-locked handsets may refuse third-party profiles regardless of how the plan was paid for. Compatible devices generally include iPhones from the XS generation onwards, recent Google Pixels, and Samsung Galaxy S and Z flagships, and Airalo publishes a compatible device list on its site. Check that list against your exact model before you spend anything, because a 10% saving on a plan your phone cannot install is not a saving.
Keep the Airalo line switched off until you land. On arrival, select that line and enable Data Roaming for it only, leaving your home line untouched. Plan validity generally starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at the destination rather than at purchase, though sources differ on whether some plans start at installation, so read the plan page. If nothing connects, toggle airplane mode or manually select a partner network.
Most Airalo packages are data-only, with no local number or traditional SMS; a minority include a number, stated on the plan detail page. Assume one code per order, with no stacking against other offers or active sales, and treat platform codes as typically single-use per account. Whether EDCC10 works on top-ups, on store credit or gift-card purchases, or alongside referral credit is not published — the payment screen shows you when you try. Unused data does not roll over, and refunds on a discounted order return the amount paid, not the pre-discount price.
