Most travellers choose an Airalo plan by typing in the country they are sleeping in and stop there. A long-haul itinerary rarely works that way. You may change planes in a third country, cross a border by train, or spend a night near an airport somewhere that is not on your plan's list. Airalo is a marketplace reselling prepaid data from local operators as eSIM profiles, so a plan covers the destinations printed on its plan page and nothing else. That makes the coverage decision the one worth getting right before you worry about the discount. Local eSIMs cover a single country, regional eSIMs cover a group such as Europe or Asia, and global eSIMs cover a long list of destinations. If your transit stop matters to you — because you want maps, a rebooking message or a taxi app during a six-hour wait — a regional plan may serve where a local one will not. Plans are typically priced in single or low double-digit dollars, with about $5 cited for a small plan and around $20 for a mid-sized regional one, so the gap between a local and a regional plan is often larger than the 10% saving on either.

Search the destination and open the plan; confirm the data allowance, the validity window in days, and the full list of covered countries.
Press Buy Now to reach the order summary or payment screen.
Expand the promo code row — a tappable row with a tag or ticket icon above the total in the app, a text box in the order summary panel on the web — and type EDCC10 exactly, with no spaces.
Apply it and check that a discount line appears and the total falls by 10%.
Pay by card or wallet; the receipt arrives by email.
Open My eSIMs and install by direct install or QR code, using the SM-DP+ address and activation code if needed.
The code has to go in before payment. It cannot be added to a completed order afterwards, and there is no reliable route to having 10% credited back once you have paid full price.
Installation needs an internet connection, so install at home over Wi-Fi and leave the Airalo line switched off. Plan validity generally starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at the destination rather than at purchase, though this differs by plan, so a line that wakes up during a layover can start the clock earlier than you intended. On arrival, select the Airalo line and enable Data Roaming for that line only. If nothing appears, toggle airplane mode or select a partner network manually.
Unused data does not roll over when the validity window closes, which is the other reason a transit-day activation is worth avoiding on a short plan.
The discount applies to the plan price shown in the store, not to the data allowance or the number of days. Assume one code per order, no stacking with other offers or active sales, and single-use per account as the typical pattern on this kind of platform. Top-ups are bought from My eSIMs rather than as new profiles, and eligibility on top-ups or on store credit and gift-card purchases can differ — watch whether the total actually changes. Refunds on a discounted order return the amount paid, not the pre-discount price, and the coupon does not come back. Bank foreign transaction fees and exchange rates sit outside checkout and are untouched.
Airalo does not publish EDCC10's expiry date externally, nor whether it is reusable, whether it is limited to first purchases, whether top-ups count, whether a minimum order applies, or whether particular package types are excluded. Whether store or referral credit can combine with it shows on the payment screen when you try. Most packages are data-only with no local number or traditional SMS, and the device must be eSIM-capable and carrier-unlocked — Airalo's compatible device list is the reference point before any of the above matters.
