When the data plan is going on an expense claim, the arithmetic changes slightly. A discount code still reduces what leaves your account, but it also reduces what you can claim back, because a reimbursement is based on the amount actually paid. EDCC10 takes 10% off the plan price shown in the Airalo store, so a plan listed at around $20 becomes a smaller charge on your card and a smaller line on your claim. The employer benefits; you are neither better nor worse off, provided the paperwork matches.
Airalo is an eSIM marketplace, not a network. It resells prepaid data from local operators as digital profiles, delivered as a QR code or direct install link, with no physical shipping. That matters for expenses: there is no courier receipt, no SIM packaging and no shop till slip. The email receipt and the order record in your account are the whole audit trail.
Sign in to your Airalo account at airalo.com or in the app before you start, so the order is tied to one identifiable account.
Open the destination plan and confirm the data allowance and validity window in days.
Press Buy Now to reach the order summary or payment screen.
Expand the promo code row, the tappable tag or ticket icon in the app or the text box in the web order summary, and enter EDCC10 exactly with no spaces.
Apply it and check that a discount line appears and the total falls by 10%.
Pay by card or wallet. Payment methods include cards and, by region, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal. The receipt is emailed.
The code has to be applied before payment. It cannot be added retroactively to a completed order, and there is no reliable route to having 10% credited back after paying full price, so a mistimed claim cannot be fixed by support afterwards.
The discount applies to the plan price, not to the data allowance or the validity window. You are buying the same package for less money, so any internal note about how much data was purchased stays the same.
Bank foreign transaction fees and exchange rates sit outside Airalo's checkout and are not reduced by the code. If your card issuer adds a fee, that appears on your statement rather than on the Airalo receipt, and your employer's policy will determine whether it is claimable. Keep the statement line and the emailed receipt together so the two figures can be reconciled.
Store credit and gift cards are sold as well as plans, and eligibility on those purchases, and on top-ups bought from My eSIMs, can differ. If you are buying either, watch whether the total actually changes before committing.
Refunds and chargebacks on a discounted order return the amount paid, not the pre-discount price, and the voucher itself does not come back. Codes on the platform are typically single-use per account, so a cancelled trip may cost you the use of the code as well as the delay. Creating a second account to reuse a single-use voucher breaches retailer terms and risks the accounts, which is not a sensible move on a company-linked email address.
Airalo does not publish the expiry date of EDCC10 externally. It is also not stated whether the code is single-use or reusable on later orders, whether it applies to first purchases only, whether top-ups are eligible, whether any minimum order value applies, or whether specific package types are excluded. Assume one code per order, no stacking with other offers or active sales, and confirm on the payment screen before you pay.
Install over home or office Wi-Fi from My eSIMs, using direct install or the QR code with its SM-DP+ address and activation code, and keep the line off until you land. Most packages are data-only, with no local number or traditional SMS, though some plans include a number and the plan detail page will say. Validity generally starts when the eSIM first connects at the destination, so an early install does not burn days off the claimable plan.
