For the spring semester of 2023, I decided to join a team at the PantherDev development club and lead level design on another Unity project. White hands Painted Red is a First Person Shooter, inspired by Ultrakill by Arsi Patala, where excessive blood covers the environment throughout fast paced gameplay.
EXPERIENCE:
Planning and construction of a layout that reflects the gameplay and visuals of the GDD and team lead's goals.
Modeling and texturing of static environmental assets in Blender to enclose and decorate the level.
Assembly of level assets into final level layout.
2D art for enemy TV screen heads.
The level design started with a 2D map then a low poly whitebox version of the entire level.
I then took the low poly objects and fully modeled them and added textures.
Finally, I replaced all of the low poly whiteboxing with the final assets.
The first aesthetic of the level is a fancy nightclub with art deco and classical architecture.
The second half is the ugly truth behind the curtain. The nightclub was previously an industrial warehouse, with some parts renovated into a club.
