I am developing a YouTube series called Lego: Gotham Spectres where I visualize a hypothetical reboot of the Lego Batman franchise in gaming.
This video shows off an early version of Nightwing's movement made from scratch in Unity. To develop this system I made a custom rig in Blender and set up an IK system within Unity and animated a plethora of movements in-engine.
This animation system allows for dynamic blending between movements as well as a seperation of animations between the lower body, upper body, hands, cape, and head.
Given a purposely sloppy mocap recording I used iClone 8 to repair the animation as well as seamlessly introduce hand animated elements.
I took what was originally a performance for a swordsman vs a monster and transformed it into an immersive scene set in the Fallout universe.
