For the Spring 2024 Showcase poster, I wanted there to be more visual elements that could draw people's curiosity about the games being promoted. I took this as an opportunity to do some more modeling within Blender and texturing within Substance Painter. These three mementos represent the most important visual elements from each game developed in the club over that semester.

The original inspiration was the overworld of Nintendo's Mario Wonder, where every level select had its own miniature memento/trophy representing what would be within the level.

The semester of Fall 2023 was my first as the Vice President of the game development club at GSU. I wanted to make a lasting impact on this club, because it's one of the most important things that has ever happened to me. Not only did I prioritize the improvement of game design here, but I wanted the club to get more recognition. The symbol of the club, the logo, is something I wanted to re-do for a while. This new logo is not only more visually appealing, but also easily recognizable and printable.
I took the idea of an old gaming controller and iterated through many designs until I reached this, where the buttons create the motif of a cat. The retro aesthetic of the 70s is one of my favorite visual styles and calls back to my first game at PantherDev, Titania. This heavily informed the primary color palette.
Version 1: I was asked to experiment with a re-design of the LightBreak logo recently and came up with a few different versions.
Some of the elements I came up with will be used in the final logo, with mine acting as preliminary inspiration. This concept was the first sketch I did with a couple different ideas. The priority was highlighting mechanical and emotional aspects of the game while also retaining simplicity.
Version 2: This one reined in the simplicity. There was a need to stay away from serif fonts as they felt too serious. I wanted the "Light" to represent the abstract aspect of the game and "Break" to represent the zen aspect.
Version 3: I personally love this logo! I heavily modified the Glockenspiel font for "Break" in order to simply and thicken the letters yet I tried to retain the stylization of it.

This is my original IP that I pitched to the PantherDev game development club at Georgia State University. I led 10+ members on a ~3.5 month schedule to create a prototype demo demonstrating core mechanics. Go to the Titania page for more information.
This device, designed by Emily Hall and programmed by me, is a primary mechanic in the game, providing key information about the stability of the timeline.
I wanted to come up with a unique, eye catching location and aesthetic. Uranus is an underrated planet and I've always found the idea of moons super interesting.
Video editing and graphic design has been a hobby for me since I was in high school. By being limited to a 16:9 canvas for videos and thumbnails, my skills have been molded and refined. Attempting to make thumbnails that stand out in a see of other videos requires a knowledge of graphic design and artistic principles such as balance, contrast, emphasis, proportion, hierarchy, repetition, pattern, and white space. I am very passionate about typography and how it can guide these principles within the image. I always try to make the text and overlay elements feel coherent with the subject matter.
