Every age group, especially kids, is experiencing a wide-range of emotions like depression, anxiety, loneliness, resistance, anger, stress, sadness, overwhelm etc.
Due to quarantine, many people are not able to fulfill certain things that they have to. Examples include: doctors appointments, emergency travel, etc. People who are obligated, no matter what, to fulfill these duties are at great risk.
Many people have lost loved ones due to COVID-19 and must cope with their grief
Social distancing slows the spread of the coronavirus. COVID-19 is very contagious because it spreads quickly and easily by virus cough droplets, sneezing, and breathing.
N95 and N99 masks are highly recommended for protection, but disposable masks or cloth coverings will be protective too. When wearing a mask, make sure that your nose AND mouth are fully covered.
After returning from outside, be sure to properly remove your mask, clean it, or throw it away if it is disposable.
Washing your hands is essential to kill the virus. Soap breaks the lipid envelope on the Coronavirus, leaving it unable to cause infection. In addition, soap will make your hands slippery, allowing virus particles to smoothly "slip" off the surface of your hands.
Watch the video at the left to learn how to wash your hands properly.
Touching any part of your face in public is the biggest danger because the Coronavirus can easily find its way into the body through the eyes, nose, and mouth.
If you need to touch your face for some reason when you are in public, make sure to thoroughly sanitize your hands with hands sanitizer or wash your hands with water and soap.
People tend to touch their face about 25 times per hour without even realizing it.
Always clean the surfaces you touch with dirty hands with cleaning materials like Lysol wipes, Clorox wipes, detergent, soap, water, household disinfectants, etc.
Certainly, this time is very unprecedented and we are all looking for ways to go out and still protective ourselves. While taking a stroll around the neighborhood while wearing a mask is healthy and safe, touring around public, highly-crowded areas puts yourself and others at risk of getting the virus.
We must take care of ourselves. Taking precautions is also very important, but still puts a greater risk of getting the virus in case something accidental occurs (e.g., you touch your face with dirty hands). Do not restrict yourself from going for a walk around your neighborhood in areas that are not crowded because fresh air and sunlight is essential for our mental, emotional, physical, psychological, and social well-being.
