High Level Gameplay
No heroic classes or legate writs automatically
Legate XP is replaced with regular XP
Skills can be purchased with XP at a rate of 3 per 2 skill points
Foci can be purchased with XP at a rate of 24 per Focus
10 HD is the maximum, but a full reroll (taking the better of the new roll or +1 total HP) can be purchased for 3 XP a. HP can never exceed the maximum for your character's options (dice + bonuses); the automatic +1 has an upper limit
Writs can be purchased at a rate of 6 XP plus the number of writs you already have for class or universal writs, or 8 XP plus the number of writs you already have for other class' writs a. Upon purchasing your first writ, you get access to 1 Legate effort. More Legate effort can be purchased for current pool * 5 XP b. After purchasing a Mastery writ, a character becomes capable of creating Workings using the Legate rules whether or not they were capable of making Workings before
Additional arts from a class you already have may be purchased for 8 XP times the number of arts you have already purchased this way
At any time, you may spend XP to level a heroic class, but once you begin leveling a heroic class, you cannot use XP to gain any other abilities from this list until you have purchased all of the elements of your heroic class. You choose your heroic class and gain abilities from the list for their class by spending XP:
a. A heroic warrior gains abilities for 10 XP each from: Heroic Resilience, Heroic Determination, Unbroken, and Heroic Warrior's Fray. Finally, as the last ability they purchase, they may acquire Slayer.
b. A heroic mage gains abilities for 10 XP each from: Heroic Resilience, Heroic Determination, Heroic Mages Fray, additional arts and spellcasting abilities up through level 5 in the added spellcasting class, additional arts and spellcasting abilities up through level 10 in the added spellcasting class
c. A heroic expert gains abilities for 10 XP each from: Heroic Resilience, Heroic Determination, Heroic Expert's Fray, Legendary Expertise, and Heroic Skill
d. A character which becomes a heroic adventurer gains abilities based on their class combination which will be calculated on an as needed basis. Essentially, they will be available for a total of 50 XP and in an order which roughly approximates the way that the new class would advance if it grew through normal progression.
