In Singin' In The Rain, Alex was the Sound Designer and Sound Engineer. They worked with microphones and organized who would get an ear mic or a lavalier mic. They organized all the new sound equipment and also had to find frequencies that wouldn't have interference with one another. They also worked the sound mixer board during shows and set levels for each actor. They had to make a microphone plot which is listed down below (edited for anonymity of the actors). This plot helped them learn whose mics had to be on and when. Singin' In The Rain was the show which helped Alex decide to pursue Sound as one of their focus' in Theatre.
These are Alex's two mascots which kept her sane throughout the show:
Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, was Alex's second show at Pima. They worked as assistant Sound Designer, and helped Construct/Paint the set.
They helped create the space in the Black Box by using sound as a way to immerse the audience. There were four speakers on all four corners above and under the audience, using these speakers they were able to create an environment where sound traveled from one speaker to the next.
The designs in this show were used for comedic and suspensful elements.
