Pima Community College
Role : Female Lead, Video Designer, Asst. Lighting, Co-Writer
Ballet & Bagels was written by the Principles of Dramatic Structure class in Spring 2022. It was set to be the first show of Pima's season as the children's show. Alex's main role was to edit but they helped write scenes where the Abuela was present.
This was their first production as the main lead! They were extremely blessed to get the role and had a wonderful time getting to know the amazing cast and crew. They have never danced ballet before but do have experience with folklorico. Alex and their Understudy were made the dance captains and helped everyone learn their parts. As long as time allows, they might be joining the Ballet classes at Pima as they enjoyed learning.
For Video Design, there were three windows as projection screens. They had to hang 3 projectors, map all 3 screens, figure out how to get the connections working for them to connect to the computer and onto qlab, create gradients to signify time changes, add fade-in/out cues and insert videos to play alongside the Sound Design.

Spongebob is Alex's first musical as an actor!
They were part of the ensemble and portrayed a shrimp. They were also part of the Sardine Cult as a soloist. During the rehearsal process Alex was the Alto leader and then was moved around as a Soprano Second when needed.
During the show, whenever Alex wasn't on stage, they would be standing at a mic as the Alto
(In a group of Base, Tenor, Alto, and Soprano)
as supporting vocals.
The Fantasticks was done during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Rehearsals were first through zoom and then slowly took place in person. Everyone was required to wear masks even while performing. The show was a collaboration between Pima Community College and the professional theatre company, Arts Express. This is Alex's first show as an actor! They are the understudy for Matt, the male lead. While also being an understudy, they also helped out with some props and were a camera operator.
Starting from March 27th 2021, The Fantasticks will be available for viewing at your convenience for a year through Arts Express.

Our America is a project consisting of 50 monologues written by Pima Theatre students. Students interviewed people from across the country to see how they were handing this year, especially with the pandemic. These stories have been turned into monologues and released weekly in 5 volumes. Alex read two monologues and helped the director with anything they needed. She utilized the clapperboard by stating the name and monologue number of the person reading for each recording. She helped organize where the states would go once they were taken off the board and would help to keep track of which states had been taken off and when.
To view these stories you can make a donation to the Pima Theatre Achievement Awards fund. This fund helps provide tuition fees for new students interested in theatre.
