Alex learned to dance folklorico in 2012. She danced for 3 years and took a break when they started highschool. While in highschool and during college, they still practiced dancing on their own time through videos and also volunteering at Tucson High to help with her choreographers high school dance recitals.
In 2022 they began dancing at a studio and finally performed again in 2023. They hope to continue performing when their work schedule allows.
Kids Unlimited Dance Studios would contact Alex to design a 2 hour dance show. Each song would have multiple light changes, some involving custom effects. I work together with the teachers to bring their concept to life and enhancing it. While being the lighting designer, I was also the Master Electrician and created my own plot to work with. All the work was done within two to three days followed by two tech rehearsals, one dress rehearsal, and two show dates. At the end of the last show I am in charge of returning the lights back into the house plot. This contract is a week long.
520 Dance Co. were guests artists for Pima's College of Dance. From their first time working together, Alex then became contracted to work with them at all their next shows whenever possible. They became their stage manager and would be their sound engineer. They have also assisted with lights.
Alex works at Pima as an Events Technician. They have worked mulitple dance shows as stage manager, lighting designer, sound engineer, and fly rail operator.
There was one show where Pima was shortstaffed. The dance schedule was set in a way where they could dance and help with being a fly rail operator when they weren't on stage. They had two quick changes but were still able to do both roles.
Alex works at Centennial Hall as a Production Technician. They are on call and have worked many dance shows as lighting designer and board operator, stage manager, and sound engineer.
