• Joono Cheong received the B.S.,M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Pohang, South Korea, in 1995, 1997, and 2003, respectively. 

• In 2003, he was a Researcher with the Institute of Precision Machine and Design, Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea. 

• From 2003 to 2005, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Research Laboratory of Electronics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA. 

• Since 2005, he has been with the Department of Control and Instrumentation Engineering, Korea University, Sejong, South Korea, where he is currently a professor. 

• He is the Director of the Laboratory for Advanced Robotics, Korea University. His research interests include robotic manipulation, motion planning, and mechanical systems control.
