This study takes an autoethnographic approach to examine how Spotify extracts value from its users. Conclusions were arrived at by the application of a theoretical framework focused on free labour, exploitation and alienation to a journal of personal and interpersonal observations regarding my own (and my friends) use of Spotify.
Women and girls with disabilities experience intimate partner violence at an alarmingly high rate, yet their experiences frequently go unnoticed and unaddressed. This project’s aim was to uncover the reasons behind this invisibility and develop a solution that would promote prevention and early intervention in this population.
This project aimed to investigate how law and culture contributed to the justification of racial injustices. By examining key contributing factors, such as police practices and tools, media depictions, and educational practices, one can understand how systemic racism is ignored through the belief that these issues are resolved.

To investigate the effects of wearing masks on children’s emotion recognition and understanding abilities, 150 children aged 5, 7, and 9 will be given a series of vignettes and asked to match masked and unmasked facial expressions of emotions that portray the emotion depicted in the vignette.

This project discusses the biology, the innate and adaptive immunity, and preventative measures available for HPV.

With the rapid ageing of the global population, the prevalence of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia is anticipated to surge worldwide. BrainFX is a new tablet-based screening tool for MCI that aims to help identify cognitive deficits at an early stage. This study has evaluated BrainFX.
My research project was focused on the goth subculture and mental health. I explored whether the goth subculture ameliorated mental health problems in youth, or whether they exacerbated them; findings suggest it is both. Research indicated that factors such as music, being social outcasts and the prevalence self-harm played a role in mental health.
Our research explores the experiences of racism that racialized and/or Indigenous students face while studying in the BSW program at Laurier Brantford. This poster provides a summary of preliminary findings from informal conversations, personal experiences, and the pre-existing literature. We hope to create calls to action to improve the program.
