Polytones in the Holidome with ACB President Beth Steele, Lt. Col. (Ret.) 

Plan on an unforgettable Musical Experience while we gather all of our musicians on the open floors of the Wyndham’s Holidome and perform glorious sounds throughout the hotel, under the baton of our very own ACB President Beth Steele!

Open to all, including guests, even if you are not participating in the Convention Band. Please indicate on your registration form if you will participate.

Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Beth Steele is the President of the Association of Concert Bands. She holds a Bachelor of Music (Trumpet) and a Master of Music (Wind Conducting) degree from Northwestern University. She served a 25-year career as a conductor in the U.S. Army. Her assignments included The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” The U.S. Army Field Band, Commander of the Continental Army Band, Commandant of the Army School of Music and Commander of the U.S. Army Europe Band and Chorus. During her assignment in Europe, Beth was awarded the German government’s highest peacetime award of the Silver Cross of Honor. She conducted historic performances in Moscow’s Red Square, for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, and in the first-ever combined concerts with the National Serbian Defense Orchestra. Beth and her husband, also a retired Army musician, reside in Breckenridge, CO, where she conducts the Summit Concert Band. She also serves as the Executive Director for the Music at the Summit Adult Band Institute, a five-day festival for amateur adult musicians which she created. Beth has performed on trumpet with numerous groups, including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the New Sousa Band, the Virginia Symphony, and the British Imperial Military Band.
