Under the Road Traffic (Electric Scooters) Regulations 2024, it is illegal for any person under 16 years of age to ride an e-scooter in a public place, including footpaths, cycle lanes, parks, and any other public space frequented by members of the public. This includes their use to and from school if under the age of 16. E-scooters pose a significant risk of injury for younger users and other members our community. In order to streamline our application process, Abbey Community College has moved to an online application system. Here you will be able to make your online application, accept a place (including the submission of all documentation required by the school during this stage of the process) and apply for a transfer from another school to Abbey Community College. Abbey Community College received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to provide students with a mobile classroom of computers which gives access to research for projects at Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert level.
