For my costume list, either I wanted to design an outfit that would link to the scene being filmed or I would be creating an indie look.
I started by looking at my storyboard and for each scene, identify what clothes my actor had that would fit the indie vibe or what clothes he could borrow to try and replicate the indie rock stereotypes. I wanted media connotations that he was an outsider, he was different and that he wouldn't wear stereotypical teenager clothes of jeans and a zipped hoodie in dark colours or a polo shirt. When I was selecting outfits, I wanted to have bright colours that would match the vibrancy of my music video.
There are some shots where I wanted my actor to replicate the iconography that is presented in the graffiti. This would be the scene which shows a wall mural of Bart Simpson in a MF Doom mask and a wall mural of Alice in Wonderland and the white rabbit.
For the scenes with my actor walking backwards I selected a bright pink jumper to make him stand out in a crowd.
I wanted my drummer to represent the outfit of what an indie rock fan would wear with colourful and expressive clothes.
