This was my first draft where I experimented with the layout, the styling and the concept of the interobang and inverted interroband. Initially, I wanted it to be black on a white design as these are contrasting colours that I thought would emphasise my idea and create a striking effect. It gave me a rough idea of where I was going with it but I needed better images that linked more obviously with my music video.
I felt this design linked better to the music video as it now more obviously included a photo of one of my key band members. At this stage I was playing around with different fonts, trying to find the one that looked the most indie. I used one font for the interrobang and another for the text. I liked the image but not the fonts and it felt that it had a lack of vibrancy for an indie rock band and too much of a contrast with my music video.
I changed the fonts and the colours and I felt much happier with my design. I was happy with the front and back cover but the disc and the inside sleeve needed work. These were too plain in comparison with the album cover. I felt it suited my music video better as it reflects the vibrancy of what I have created and it features my band members. I also felt it suited indie rock genre.
I changed the disc and inside sleeve for my final version and felt that it all worked well together.
