Student Choice Day Lesson - Student Choice Day Lesson Plan.docx
Discussion of the lesson Plan
During student choice days, we have to team teach to supervise all the classes that take part of our student choice days. It was essential for all the teachers to talk to each other about what sports need to be setup and where the teachers need to go whether it was a the main gym or fieldhouse. Team teaching took collaborative skills and interaction skills that need to be gained as a teacher.
It was important that I learned this aspect of teaching because I will have to collaborate with teachers in order to figure out unit or instructional plans. I was student teaching at a high school where there were large numbers that were in the fieldhouse. These days we would split up and supervise one of the sports that were an option. I believe that I have gotten better in socializing with other teachers and planning how to set up a day.
In the future, I will use what I learned in order to communicated with other parents. I will be in schools where talking to colleagues and administration will be vital in planning for the day. I can use these days to my advantage as I will be able to split up duties with other teachers to ensure safety and well-planned sports.
