Unit Plan - Unit Plan.docx
Discussion of my Unit Plan
This is a unit plan that I created while in my curriculum design class for PE. I was able to make a unit plan that was quite time consuming but furthered my education on what goes into a unit plan. A whole year or semester can be planned by thoughtfully thinking about what would work best in the beginning, middle, and the end of the year. It is important to know what direction to go in when thinking about elementary school students. They need to know more basic information when thinking about PE. It was produced during this class so that I would start thinking about all of what goes into a year as a teacher. A teacher needs to value time. A student will learn best from a teacher that is prepared for positives and negatives of their lessons.
It is important to prepare for the year before the year starts. This will help with progressing in the year and preparing for the worst. Elementary students need change and need to be constantly intrigued. This occurs when teachers prepare for this and prepare the weather, space available, and activities that need more time. It progress me towards the overall achievement of the class and the students. It is important that the students are adding objective and goals to the class. I progressed my ability to plan for a year and each concept that goes along with a whole unit plan.
I learned through the creation of this unit plan that I can create a unit plan like this in my class. I will be using some the inquiries through the unit plan in my class. It will be important that I think about my class to this entirety. It connects to my ability to run a classroom and show leadership. It progressed me ability to acclimate to being a PE teacher and being able to understand how to run a classroom. It allows me to develop and improve the way I think about progression in a class and how to adhere to a curriculum.
Lesson Plan - Physical Education Lesson Plan 3.docx
Discussion about the lesson plan
This lesson plan involved a circuit that would consist of High intensity interval exercises. It played into my background of exercise science and outlined how I could use this type of lesson for my future classes. It was produced before my student teaching started so I was still fresh about teaching lessons. It contains specific exercises that the students will do and the time that it will take for them to do it. This lesson helped me to get more comfortable with teaching in front of a class and explaining a lesson plan more in depth.
This was important because it shows content area knowledge along with applying diverse student characteristics. There are a wide range of abilities when it comes to applying exercise to lessons. It is important because it shows that I can run a circuit like that in a class setting. It is important for me to continue my passion for exercise and improving fitness. It shows that I understand how PE is about health not just learning about sports. It helps to understand all aspects of PE and the differentiation that can come through lessons. I think that I learned how to run lessons while keeping in mind that accommodations need to be made.
I learned that my development as a teacher is going to come with differentiated instruction. As stated above, knowing abilities of the students is important when teaching the students. The wide range of skill level and intelligence can play a role in learning. This is why a unit plan as well as individual lesson plans are important and need to be well put together. I learned how I need to slow down when I am teaching students and I need to be clear and attentive. It will essential that I learn through my lessons and improve on the last one.
