2 Timothy 4:6-8
Keeping your Faith
6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
St. Paul, in prison, writes a letter to Timothy...He talks about his life...He has preached to many, and wrote many letters for us...It is almost finished, and most importantly he has kept the faith...
St. Paul tells us about his life and his faith...He has fought the good fight...It has been a struggle for St. Paul (he has been hounded by people against the gospel)...Life and keeping your faith can be a struggle for the best of men...St. Paul admits that in these verses...Holding on to your faith can be a struggle...Not only our disbelief and doubt want to overcome our faith, but the doubts of others also can weigh on us ...So keep your guard up on disbelief and doubt...Regularly, pray for a stronger faith...
Pray regularly and pray often, so you can see the Righteous Judge, who will reward you on that day...
