We have 6 Chartered Committees, and 2 Ad-Hoc Committees that each state committee member is appointed to by the Chair.

Caucuses are separate democratic entities that are chartered by the WSDCC, and governed by the Rules for Constituency Caucuses.
They provide space for SCMs and Democrats around the state to connect on issues they care about and identities they hold.
The Caucuses are also represented on the Executive Committee by a representative that is voted on by Chairs of the Caucuses.

The main business at state committee meetings are to vote on are:
○Resolutions
○Charter and Bylaw amendments
During Certain Meetings:
○Elect State Party Officers
○Vote to approve the Delegate Selection Plan
○Vote to approve the state party budget proposed by the Executive Committee
○Pass standing rules for the administration of the Party
WSDCC Meets as a whole 3 times a year, once in January, May and September.
Sometimes there are special virtual meetings for emergency situations
Committees meet at various times, but most trend to meet about 3-4 times a year.
January 2025 - Reorganization, Election of officers, Urgent resolutions
May 2-4th 2025 - Approve the DSAAP, Approve the budget,
September 26-28th 2025 - Approve potential DSAAP changes, Rules amendments
January 2026 - Rules amendments
Summer 2026 - State Convention
September 2026 - Nominations, and final committee reports, Electoral action event
All Meetings - Resolutions, and Charter and Bylaw amendments considered

Includes Where As, and Therefore It Be Resolved Clauses

Read the “Rules for Resolutions” document on our website under “Party Document”
Write the Resolution about an issue you care about
Submit it to party affairs staff via partyaffairs@wa-democrats.org 30 days before the general session of the next state committee meeting
Then it will go to the Resolutions Committee to be given a recommendation
Then it will go to the State Committee Meeting to be debated and voted on by the state committee members.
Submit Amendment 15 days prior to State Committee Meeting
Reviewed by Rules Committee
Rules Committee may create new amended version
Rules Committee may provide recommendation
C&B amendments distributed to members 10 days out
First item of business at SCC meeting - unamendable from the floor
Charter amendments require 2/3 of *all* elected members to approve
Bylaw amendments require affirmative majority of *all* elected members to approve
By default the amendment will go into effect Jan 1 of following year
Every 2 Years on even years.
Conventions use the DSAAP (Delegate Selection and Affirmative Action Plan) that is proposed by the Rules Committee and Chair & approved by the members of the WSDCC
In 2024, the State Convention:
○Had Delegates elected by PCOs/Members of LDs
○Those delegates vote at the state convention on the Party Platform, and on some of the national delegates
○All State Committee Members, Chairs and Vice Chairs were Automatic Delegates
