QuickBooks can malfunction or respond when it fails to access the QBWUSER.ini file or process it. You must rename the QBWUSER.ini file to make it accessible for the software, as it recreates the file when you change its name. 1. Click the folder icon on the taskbar or double-click the ‘This PC’ icon to open the file explorer.

2. Tap View located at the top of the screen, and mark the Hidden items checkbox with a single click.

3. Go to C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooksXX and right-click the QBWUSER.ini file.

4. Select the Rename option and add ‘.old’ at the file name’s end.
