There were two zones and two goals, which teams could score balls into, as well as two hanging bars for robots to hang off. The field was divided by a "bump" and a trough, with various openings to allow for robot passage between. Matches were played on a field set up as illustrated in the figures below. Two Alliances, composed of two teams each, competed in each Match. The goal of the game was to score higher than the opposing alliance by scoring the colored "BuckyBalls" and large balls into the middle zone and goal zone, by stashing the colored "BuckyBalls" and large balls into the goals, and by hanging the robot or hanging the robot with a ball at various heights, off of the colored bar at the end of the match.
