DEFCON 2 - Fall back to critical base areas - engine core, control center, prison(situational) - and defend at all costs.
DEFCON 1 - Base has been overrun and lost, prepare for emergency evacuation.
As an Attack Battalion, the 212th are expected to be able to spearhead assaults. In order to successfully complete this task with as little casualties as possible, tactics are necessary. Most commonly used will be the bounding system. Other advanced maneuvers may include Hold and Flank or using asymmetrical warfare to pick apart the enemy’s formation. It is imperative that troopers follow tactics assigned by their Officers and NCOs to ensure the least amount of casualties.
Bounding System - Troopers will buddy up or be assigned to squads who will actively alternate cover fire and maneuver to another piece of cover. One squad will always be providing cover fire whilst the other moves to a position with cover, ensuring that no one trooper or squad is left defenseless. Each squad that is maneuvering will actively say “BOUNDING!” before moving to let the other squad know when to suppress the enemy.
Hold and Flank - A squad of troopers will hold a base of fire, meaning occupy a position and provide covering fire that keeps the enemy's attention occupied, while a flanking force takes the enemy by surprise from any applicable direction.
Asymmetrical Warfare - A number of troopers will be assigned to take high ground, whether that be in a building or elevated terrain, and pick apart enemy forces as necessary. This squad will have the autonomy to move to other parts of high ground to better accomplish their mission.
