Upland Series

Nice sunny day 15 degrees.

Winds east, light building to moderate, perfect for today!

Two gunner’s walking parallel with 2 judges walking behind handler walking south then turn to east. 3rd judge was hidden in a bush and released the launch box. Lots of scent throughout field.

Pheasants launched as approached box. Judge released launch box. Ran 2 test dogs.

Starting dog #2 Chloe handler by Susan Endersby. Lots of very nice quartering. Some requires a 2nd whistle especially if the bird flushed low. 3 dogs were given re-run. Finished at 12:30 pm.

Dog 30 dropped.

Series 4

Water blind 91 yds. Moderate cross wind.

Angle entry, 25 yards on land before dogs hit water. On return from blind, winger bird from corner of pond and shot by Gunner from boat.

Ran 2 test dogs. 1st dog nice job with handler fighting factor of wind and close shore line.

2nd dog had to be handled a number of times to drive dog out but did the job.

Starting dog #9 Kix handled by Joanne Kinney.

Many whistles due to strong suction of the shore. Some hit the shore too early. Dogs dropped were #7, #9, #32.

Tomorrow , series 5 Land. Caravan leaves 8.30

Starting dog will be #16 Hero handled by Pierre Girard.
